English in China-Evan

Right now, the English education system is geared towards passing exams. Theoretical knowledge is emphasised and taught in classes to help students get high marks on their examinations. To compare with the past, although it has changed a lot, there are still some similar phenomena. When I first touched English class, taught Grammar, reading, writing, listening but without speaking or very little practice of spoken English. Moreover, we had very little liberty discussion and critical-thinking are usually forbidden in the class.  I think it is an incredible joke to study a foreign language without communications.
If you do a trip to China and couldn’t speak any Mandarin, you will realise the fact that will be very hard to find a native to make a conversation or asking directions because most of people cannot speak a whole English sentence even if in attractions.
However,it might be the best time to test your body language you couldn't waste.

On the other hand, if you come from an English country, you can very easily make new local friends who are really want to improve their English skills. Also, if you are handsome or beautiful, it is easy to make girlfriends or boyfriends as well.
Good Luck!

  3. Haha your writing is humorous. Yes, that is the point, a foreigner can hardly find someone to check road directions in China due to too less of people can speak fluent English.
